Help & how-to

How Turf Time works

A quick guide to running your team, challenging rivals, and tracking results.

  1. Captains vs. members — who can do what

Captain: the team owner. Captains can edit team details, upload a logo, invite or remove players, approve join requests, schedule fixtures, submit results, appoint vice captains, transfer captaincy, and archive the team.

Vice captain: a trusted manager for day-to-day work. Vice captains can edit team details, invite or approve players, remove ordinary players, schedule fixtures, and submit results; captain-only actions stay with the captain.

Player: a squad member. Players can view team pages and stats, appear in lineups and scorer lists, request to join more teams, and leave teams they do not captain.

Fan / visitor: anyone signed in without managing a team. Fans can browse rankings, follow players, request to join teams, and create a team when they are ready.

  2. 1. Create or join a team

Tap Create team in the top bar (or the green + button on mobile) to become a captain. Pick a name and your home court — the venue you usually play at.

To join an existing team, browse the Leaderboard and request to join, or open a captain's invite link.

Players can belong to more than one active team. If you reach an app limit, Turf Time shows the limit before joining or creating another team.

  3. 2. Invite your players

Captains and vice captains can open the team page and tap Invite link to generate a shareable URL. Copy it or share via WhatsApp.

Anyone who opens the link will be prompted to sign in (if needed) and then join your squad automatically.

Captains and vice captains see incoming join requests in the bell icon at the top of every page.

  4. 3. Challenge another team

Captains and vice captains can open Play → Schedule a fixture. Search by team name or court; local rivals at your home court appear first.

Optionally pick a date — this is for tracking match scheduling inside the app only and does not book the actual pitch.

Pick a venue from the standard court list so stats stay consistent.

  5. 4. Log a match result

Captains and vice captains can submit a result from one hour after kick-off. Add your lineup and scorers before submitting.

The opposing team's captain or vice captain confirms the result, or disputes it if the score is wrong. Confirmed results update ratings and then lock.

Results are never approved on your behalf. The same person who proposed a result cannot confirm it, even if they manage both teams.

  6. 5. Stats, ranks and Top Scorers

Team ratings use an Elo-style system: beating stronger teams earns more points. Big wins multiply gains.

The Players tab shows the league's top goal scorers — only goals attributed to registered squad members count.

  7. Need a court added or found a bug?

Use Send feedback (in your profile menu) to request a new court — including private or custom venues — report bugs, or share suggestions.
